Whether you were a buyer , a seller , or a Realtor in this crazy market in 2022, we have some important takeaways to share with you. In this blog post, we’ll discuss my top five takeaways of 2022 and showcase a beautiful home located at 123 Potomac Lane in Mooresville, North Carolina. Let’s dive in!
One of the key lessons from 2022 is the significance of networking and building strong relationships. In this dynamic market, it’s crucial to leverage the connections you’ve cultivated over time. If you haven’t been actively building relationships, now is the perfect time to start.
The first half of the year was incredibly competitive, with rising interest rates and soaring demand. Buyers were going crazy and houses were flying off the market. However, in the second half of the year, things cooled off a bit, presenting an opportunity to assess the market and explore the implications for Charlotte.
Having a network of trustworthy professionals is essential, whether you’re buying, selling, or working with industry vendors. Attend networking events, reach out to people, and find meaningful ways to connect. Building relationships takes effort, but it’s always worth it in the end.
Another valuable lesson is that surprises can arise when creating videos. Some videos are going to exceed your expectations, while others may fall short.
For example, a video featuring a listing in Peachland, North Carolina , unexpectedly gained significant attention and led to a quick sale.
Moral of the story is that it’s essential to remember that not every video needs to be perfect or conform to a particular standard. Authenticity matters more than perfection. If cursing is part of your natural speech, feel free to be yourself. By posting videos consistently and embracing authenticity, you can gauge the audience’s response and adapt accordingly.
Building a sense of community and fostering a positive work culture is super important for business growth. It’s important to hire people who aren’t just good at their job, but who love what they do and are a delight to talk to every day.
If you don’t genuinely enjoy working with your team, the work you’re doing is going to suck!
Personal branding is incredibly important — whether you’re a real estate agent, a lender, an attorney, etc. There are over 20k real estate agents in Charlotte, so how am I going to ensure that I stand out?
Now more than ever, when there are so many people fighting for the same clientele, you need to make sure that you can prove to someone that you are worth working with because you’re going to be better and more enjoyable to work with.
If you’re stuck in an elevator with someone, and they say, “Why should I work with you? There’s thousands of other real estate agents?” You better have a quick answer before those doors start to open!
The final takeaway from 2022 is that your personal life will spill into your business world, and that can be a really good thing. I started dating my girlfriend, Suzie, at the beginning of the year, and I’ve noticed that since then I’ve had incredible clarity on my business because my personal life is so good. Because of that I’m able to enjoy my personal life and focus on my business life. I now have a partner where I feel like we’re running at the same speed, and we’re able to focus on our business and enjoy quality time together, which allows us to be laser focused on building a great future together.
